X3 Sports Competitors Dominate Recent Events
July 28, 2008 - X3 Sports grapplers recently crushed the competition in the 2008 Kentucky Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Tournament. On July 26th six competitors traveled to Kentucky along with head coach Ranieri Paiva, bringing home six Gold medals and one Silver in multiple divisions. Congratulations to Clint Hester, Mike Wheaton, Megan Nevil, Eric Brower, Clint Schwartzlander, and Ranieri Paiva. Ranieri competed in the first black belt match ever held in the state of Kentucky, winning by way of “brabo choke.” The next up and coming tournament, “Lutador Open” will be held in Smyrna Georgia on August 30th at the Smyrna Community Center. In MMA news, two X3 Sports fighters recently competed at Cowboys in Kennesaw on Friday, July 25th. Eric Takahashi made his MMA debut winning by way of armbar submission in the first round. Kevin Sargent won at the end of the second round by TKO when his opponent could not answer the bell for the third round. Both fighters showed great sportsmanship, representing X3 Sports in traditional fashion.
